To call internationally from Brazil

To call internationally from Brazil0021 is the international prefix used to dial somewhere outside of Brazil. The international country code for your country should follow (e.g. 44 for the UK). You should then add the local area code and the number of the person you are calling.

Call costs are very expensive compared to the cost of calling Brazil from many countries.

To call internationally to Brazil

The international country code for Brazil is 55. The regional code for Pernambuco state, which includes Recife, Olinda, Porto de Galinhas, is 81.

To call other states within Brazil

Add a prefix 0 before the area code you are dialing. For example to call Recife from Salvador the dialing code is 081 plus the number of the person you are calling.
