Maracaípe is undoubtedly one of the best beaches in Brazil. It is a great escape from the hustle and bustle of Porto de Galinhas and easily accessed by buggy taxi for approx R$15 each way.

pontal-do-maracaipe-01At high tide it is perfect for surfing, kite surfing and body boarding. National and international competitions are held here. At low tide, the far end of the beach Pontal de Maracaípe is a massive area of natural pools full of tropical fish and great for bathing and snorkeling.

A one-hour guided tour for a flat R$8 per person is well worth it  –very relaxing and picturesque, and you get chance to see some wildlife.

There are a few places to stay here, but most people stay in Porto de Galinhas and come here for the day, although nightlife is good here too in summer.
